Yukie works in a nightclub. She has never met the right man until Tsunetaro crosses her path. He is the eldest son of a farming family. They marry and Yukie starts a new life as a farmer's wife. She has difficulty with work, with the customs in the family and with her mother-in-law, who does not make it any easier for her.
