Nishijin Shinju plot

After a forced but failed suicide attempt with a married man, Yumi starts working in a brothel in Kyoto. One day she becomes completely fascinated by a beautiful obi (traditional garment) from Nishijin, a district of Kyoto known for its expensive traditionally made textile products. An old police officer takes pity on her and agrees to vouch for her so she can work as a weaver. At the workplace, she falls in love with a young and handsome colleague, but then an ex-client of Yumi shows up who knows all about her dark past.
