Ninth Street plot

Most residents, young and old, of the run-down Ninth Street in Junction City, Kansas are dissatisfied with their existence. Longtime Bebo (Don Washington) and Huddie (Kevin Willmott) fondly recall the 1940s when legendary jazz musicians often played in the local clubs. At the same time, the younger generation is trying to make the most of it, including the young prostitute Carrie Mae (Nadine Griffith), who is trying hard to get out of that life. But life on Ninth Street is hard and slowly hardens with the arrival of criminals.
