Navodneniye plot

Sofia is a working class woman in 1920s Saint Petersburg. She is happily married to the hard-working Trofim. The only thing missing from their marriage are children, because Sofia is barren. They therefore decide to adopt the 13-year-old orphan Ganka. However, that leads to an unexpected strain on their relationship.
