Twenty years after the January Uprising in the Polish part of the Russian Empire, the beautiful Justyna has a host of wealthy suitors courting her. However, her attention is more on Jan, a boy of low birth who is not worthy of her by the family. However, they forget that both their fathers once fought and died together for the same honorable reason.
