Mys Dobré Nadeje plot

It is early May 1945 and the war is coming to an end. The region on the Elbe is full of retreating German soldiers and people evacuated from the cities. The cargo ship "Moldau", with a Czech crew, shuttles back and forth across the river under the care of an armed German escort. The explosives they carry should facilitate the withdrawal of a German unit from a village. Mechanic Rudla, sailor Vrána and mate Vanis want to get away as soon as the boat docks, but the Germans won't let them go.
