Musulmanin plot
A Russian soldier who spent ten years in Afghan POW returns home. He shocks the villagers with his conversion to Islam. During his absence, his father committed suicide, his brother served a prison term and his former fiancée entered prostitution. The village is the scene of endless booze, while the local ruler squanders the land for the nouveau riche. The devout Muslim appears to be the only one who can lead a sober and disciplined life. However, his attachment to his newfound faith soon incites hatred and disgust from the villagers, including his own family.
