Mud Season plot
"A murder, a love story, a vermont tale"
Jerry is a hermit who lives in a log cabin just outside a small town in the vast forests of Vermont. When his hesitant attempts at seducing the local girls come to nothing, he decides to visit the local brothel. Song, an illegal immigrant from China who has ended up in prostitution, works in the brothel. Song is at the end of her rope and just starting to freak out when Jerry visits her as a customer. Jerry demands the madam's money back, which she refuses. The scuffle that follows ends in the unintentional death of the madam. Jerry flees in panic for fear of being arrested by the police. The next day, he discovers Song, who, fearing revenge and oblivious to the fact that the madam is dead, has hidden himself in the woods near Jerry's cabin.
