When her husband dies, Rebecca is inconsolable. But it isn't long before her eccentric friend and neighbor Sylvie, ex-stepmother Roberta and her sister Lucy arrive and do everything they can to help her through these sad days. Lucy asks her sister for advice to find the right boy to join 'it'. Sylvie wants to save her own marriage. Roberta, in turn, hires a painter to redecorate the house, much to Rebecca's wishes, who could use some rest. Then the painter turns out to be a handsome and sympathetic young man who, due to his purebred 'Valentino' allures, shakes the lives of the four women seriously...
