Monsieur des Lourdines plot

While his parents live modestly on the family estate, Anthime van Lourdines in Paris leads a luxurious life, squandering all his pennies for the fickle Nelly. His father is obliged to sell part of his land and his mother dies of grief. Anthime promises on her deathbed that he will return to the family home. A while later he finds true love with Sylvie, the girlfriend from his childhood.
