With all her heart, Monika Lohmeyer loves her father's legacy of growing roses, which she proudly wants to keep despite all the economic problems, although gas station owner Zapke wants to force her to sell her property. He wants to build a new retirement home on it. After unsuccessful attempts at persuasion, he wins over the young architect Fred Klinger for the plan to change Monika's mind through a light-hearted flirtation. Zapke's attempt fails, as Fred falls in love with Monika, and she returns his affection. However, she is bitterly disappointed when she learns of the plot...
