Max and Mona plot
Traditional beliefs say that the souls of the dead will not go with their ancestors until the mourners cry at their graves. Max Bua, 19, comes from a South African farming community and inherited his grandfather's talent for mourning. Despite this gift from heaven, Max has set his sights on becoming a doctor and for that he has to travel to Johannesburg to start his studies. With money from the villagers and a wedding gift, he heads for the city. Not only does he arrive late to register at school, but he also fails to secure his room at the university. That's why Max has to go in search of his infamous Uncle Norman.
