Matière Grise plot

Matière Grise begins as a movie-within-a-movie, in which a young director talks about the faltering production of The Cycle of the Cockroach (Tutsis were referred to as cockroaches). A fund committee only wants to give money to the director if he makes films that promote educational government projects such as AIDS prevention. Nevertheless, the film-maker continues with his idiosyncratic plan. It should be an experimental film, about a brother and a sister who take on the demons of the genocide. Wearing a motorcycle helmet, the brother fights alone against the madness that has settled in his brain: gray cells that can simultaneously create, destroy and destroy themselves.
