Mathias Kneissl plot

The story is set in Bavaria around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. A young man is sentenced to death at the age of 27 for robbery and theft. From an early age he was pushed to the fringes of society and forced to steal in order to survive. In vain he tried to get a foothold in society, tried to find a job and dreamed of America as the country of the future and a new life.
