Mata Tertutup plot
In contemporary Indonesia, religious radicalization plays an increasingly important role. The banned Indonesian Islamic State (NII) successfully recruits among the young, who have no prospect of an education or work. When young radical Islamic recruits are brought to a contact address, they are first blindfolded. Nugroho tells three different stories: that of the girl Rima, who emerges as a valuable employee of the NII; Jabir, who drops out of school for lack of money and returns to his parents, and Asimah, the mother of Ainsi kidnapped by the NII.
