Maru plot

One morning, something very strange happens at the Suzuki family's home in the suburbs. Unemployed son Tetsuo is in bed cuddling with his girlfriend Yuriko when Dad comes home unexpectedly… to confess that he was fired a month ago. Just then, a mysterious round object appears in the bedroom, instantly freezing time as well as anyone who sees it. The police don't understand, so a journalist from the local newspaper investigates.
