"A triumph of startling drama-set in the danger zone of American intrigue."

Marie Galante (Ketti Gallian) is taken aboard against her will by a drunken sea captain and dumped back in Yucatan. She soon ends up as a singer in one of the harbor cafes near the Panama Canal. Marie discovers a plot to sink the American fleet in the Panama Canal. She can pass this on to Crawbett (Spencer Tracy), a handsome officer of the American Secret Service, but she is not sure whether he can be trusted.
