Manners of Dying plot

Kevin Barlow will die according to the regulations. Harry Parlington, director of the Cantos execution facility, is sure. However Barlow chooses to go, calm or fight to the end, Parlington is confident he and his team can handle the situation. When Barlow makes a baffling and unusual request, a strange duel ensues between the convicted man and the prison warden. In this battle there is no winner or loser, only two men are faced with doubts and difficult choices. The iron grip that Parlington usually has on the execution procedure begins to slip.
