Manganinnie plot

In the early 19th century, British settlers made an ugly home for the Aboriginal people in Australia. Manganninie manages to escape, travels over great mountains and rivers to the coast and searches for her tribesmen. Along the way, she meets Joanna, a settler's runaway daughter. The girl moves in with her and the two develop a bond, without speaking a common language.
