"The true story of today's girl gangsters"

Ma Dibson, along with her son Posey, daughter Rosalie and daughter-in-law Jesse Belle, enthusiastically greet her son Lefty when he is released from prison. The Dibson family survives by stealing bread from mostly soldiers, who meet the young women Jesse Belle and Rosalie in bars. Ma urges Lefty to keep quiet for now, as Police Lieutenant Lorrgan keeps a close eye on him. But old love doesn't rust and the entire Dibson family is arrested when the local bar owner is found shot during an attempted robbery.
