Madonna of Avenue A plot
"The beautiful Dolores Costello talks again!"
Maria Morton attends a boarding school for young women. She leads a carefree and protected life, unaware that her mother Georgia Morton is a nightclub hostess. While strolling on the beach, Maria catches the eye of adventurer Slim Shayne. Slim manages to persuade Maria to spend the evening on his boat. However, this boat turns out to be used for rum smuggling, and Slim escapes when he is wanted by tax officials. However, Maria was in his company and is subsequently expelled from school. Then, walking down Avenue A in New York, Maria is dismayed to discover her mother's secret...
