Mad City plot
"One man will make a mistake. The other will make it a spectacle."
Sam Baily (Travolta), is at a loss when he is fired from a museum. He takes those present, including a group of schoolchildren and a journalist on his return, hostage. The journalist, Max Brackett (Hoffman), sees the hostage crisis as the perfect opportunity to get back on top. It becomes a media hype.

Very wrong and bland, this transparent film that makes pure caricatures of the characters. The ending (we killed him!!!) is to cry so bad... The 1.5* is for a reasonable Hoffman.
