Mabuta no Haha plot
Chutaro's mother abandoned him as a child. He has no further family. One day, when his best friend Hanji gets into trouble with rival Yakuza, who want to deal with him, Chutaro decides to sort things out so Hanji can spend more time with his family. However, Hanji's mother believes that Chutaro is a bad influence on her son. If Hanji had decent friends he wouldn't get in trouble. However, Onui, Hanji's sister realizes that Chutaro is a true friend who wants the best for her brother and falls in love with him. Meanwhile, Chutaro travels the country in search of his mother. On his quest, however, he is still being chased by the Yakuza.
