Ma Soeur Chinoise plot

In 1977, one year after Mao's death, Robert Chantegris returns to China, accompanied by his daughter Blanche. He is sent to a community of French development workers who are helping the Chinese build a petrochemical complex in Hangzhou. Despite the ban on the Chinese from interacting with foreigners, Chantegris is contacted by an enigmatic Chinese acrobat. The man informs him of some surprising things from the past.
