"Why did scandal always follow LULU BELLE... Men found out about her too late."
Early 1900's: Lulu Belle (Dorothy Lamour) is singing at a cheap establishment when she meets the promising young lawyer George Davis (George Montgomery). George gives up his fiancée and his career for her and they soon marry. When the couple gets into financial trouble, they split up. Lulu gets a job at a club in New Orleans and George ends up in jail after a fight. The question is whether they will ever see each other again.
