Losing Gemma plot

Esther and Gemma, friends since childhood, leave for India with their backpacks. Once arrived in the mysterious country, the cultural differences prove too overwhelming and they slowly lose their grip on reality and on each other. Esther realizes too late that she is losing her friend. Eventually, Esther will return to England alone. Only six years later does she find out what really happened to Gemma.
