Los Abajo Firmantes plot
A traveling theater company in the Spanish interior is confronted with the sudden death of one of the protagonists. Their agent sends the young Jorge Ruiz to them, who at that moment is causing a furore in a Spanish soap series. The other actors are biased and because of his soap status, they don't really take Jorge seriously. However, the young man is not only a full-fledged actor, he is also very politically active. Meanwhile, the war in Iraq becomes more likely every day and Jorge learns from a friend that all Spanish theater companies will make a statement against the war before the start of their performances. He suggests his colleagues do the same. This proposal causes some division in the group, but after a while Jorge manages to get everyone excited about the idea. No sooner said than done. However, the actors soon find out that their statement is not equally appreciated everywhere.
