Lord Jim plot

A helmsman who abandoned his ship when it collided with another ship loses his certificate. As a result, he is no longer allowed to work on a ship. He gets a job at a trading post and works his way up to a director's position. He falls in love with the owner's daughter and shares the leadership of the local village with the Raja's son. One day the village is attacked by pirates.
