Lope plot
Spain, sixteenth century. The talented playwright Lope de Vega returns to Madrid after the war, full of ambition and with the will to live, write and fulfill his dreams… But without a red penny, he has to work as a humble copyist. Lope falls for Elena, his boss's beautiful daughter. Her father is a man of many connections who runs the most successful theater in Madrid. He would never approve of their relationship and so they keep their love a secret. But Elena has another secret: she is already married. When Lope finds out, he asks her to end the marriage and reveal their love. But Elena refuses. Lope is hurt and publicly accuses Elena and her father of hypocrisy. They are furious and accuse Lope of slander. With the law hot on his heels, Lope has to flee. He can only count on the help of the beautiful Isabel, a woman he has known since childhood.
