Lois Gibbs and the Love Canal plot

Lois (Marsha Mason) and Harry (Bob Gunton) live with their son in the small town of Love Canal not far from New York. When their son becomes seriously ill in 1978, it turns out that he has been poisoned at school. It was built on top of a former chemical waste dump. Lois learns that the substance causes cancer and that the company that produced the poison still has a branch. Then she decides to set up a protest salute in her neighborhood, which soon gets international attention.
