Lightning, the White Stallion plot

Barney Ingram runs a stud farm. Barney has fallen into disrepair due to gambling problems and is no longer able to pay his staff. Because he hasn't been paid for two months, the horse trainer steals his boss Barney Ingram's favorite horse. Barney's heart is broken by the theft of this stallion. However, Lightning manages to escape and is found by schoolgirl Stephanie Ward. However, she is not allowed to keep the horse by her stepfather, but the owner of a farm nearby offers the horse shelter for which Stephanie has to do some work in the stables. She begins to train the horse and prepares for a local equestrian competition. Meanwhile, it turns out Stephanie has an eye condition that will leave her blind within a year, unless she undergoes an extremely expensive surgery. The girl focuses on the upcoming championship, but her dreams are shattered when Lightning is stolen again.
