Liebe, Babys und ein Stükchen Heimat plot

When Antonia (Marion Kracht) and her husband Dr. Thomas Hellmann (Michael Roll) come home one day, they find a baby outside their front door in the freezing cold. The foundling is only a few hours old and there is no trace of the mother. Antonia immediately takes the girl to her heart and calls her Lucy. The baby reminds her of her own miscarriage in Namibia and the fact that she will never be able to have children of her own. When she goes to Bureau Jeugdzorg alone to apply for foster care, Thomas is very concerned. He is convinced that the biological mother will return and is afraid that Antonia will develop too close a bond with Lucy.
