Libertad plot

After a futile attempt to leave Cuba, a young artist is accused of anti-revolutionary activity and sentenced to 15 years in one of Cuba's strictest prisons. As a political prisoner, he is mistreated and tortured for four years. But then, for mysterious reasons, he is suddenly released. Once outside the prison, he and a group of friends plot a second escape. Armed with nothing more than their passionate desire for freedom, they leave the island on a raft. Their destination is the United States. But instead they find themselves at sea in a terrifying fight to the death...
