Les Yeux Secs plot
Near a Berber village far away from civilization, red ribbons wave between luxuriant flowering poppies. An almost impassable path leads to a series of residential caves carved into a steep mountainside. Old ladies sit there chatting and weaving in the mountain openings. Since time immemorial, only women have lived in the village. Men only come there 'for a fee'. The colorful splendor of the robes with which the women adorn themselves, contrasts sharply with the suffering that is marked in their eyes. Hala, the dogged and rebellious leader of the village, is determined to end the suffering of her women's community once and for all. But then Mina comes into the story. After years of imprisonment in prison, she returns to the village in the company of a guard friend, in search of her old home and the daughter she had to leave behind thirty years ago. Mina also intends to change the fate of her fellow villagers forever. But this common goal doesn't seem to automatically bring the two women closer together...
