Les Sables Mouvants plot

In 1958, twenty-seven-year-old Manuel flees Francoist Spain because he is wanted for seriously injuring someone from the civil guard during a repression of a strike in Bilbao. He arrives in Camargue with no means of support. He is hired by a man named Roger who hires foreigners when they find themselves in a difficult situation and then shamelessly exploits them on his rice paddies.
