Les Roquevillard plot

Monsieur François Roquevillard, the head of a respectable family from Chambéry, whose family members value the bond between the father and his sons, one day sees disaster approaching them. His eldest son Mauritius has disregarded the principles in which he was raised, entered into an affair with the beautiful Edith, wife of a famous notary, and fled the city. The idyll lasts for a year. Afterwards, the young man realizes his mistake and returns home. Unfortunately, this is not the end of the scandal, because the notary who has been hurt in his honor plans to take revenge.
