Les Possédés plot
The film begins in 1870 in a small village in Russia. A group of young revolutionaries wants to overthrow the established order through violence. They think this is the only way to reform society. One of the group members, Szatow, awaits the return of the aristocrat Stawrogin, who will take his place as leader. By the time Stawrogin arrives, the rest of the group has begun to doubt Szatow's loyalty and have decided that he must be killed. Based on a Dostoevsky novel.
