Les Oiseaux du Ciel plot

Otho and Shad move away from Abidjan in hopes that they will be able to build a new life in Europe and return as heroes later. But a police raid in Spain shatters that dream. Otho is escorted to the border and comes home empty-handed - without the obvious symbols of the idealized Western world. Because he has not been able to live up to the expectations of his family and of the community, he is ostracized. Shad manages to escape the police and persists in his dream. He goes to England, where he meets the Frenchman Tango, who lures him to Paris for a marriage of convenience.
