In 1972, 8-year-old Sarah lives in a Belgian foster family. One day her father, whom she has never seen, comes to get her for a trip, but she wakes up in a village in Morocco. Sarah must find a way to take her place. She has an urge to leave, to find the Belgium of her childhood and to lead a free life.
