Le Roi Qui Vient du Sud plot

France, 1563. Protestants and Catholics fight for land and power in the name of faith. At the head of the Protestants is Henry of Navarre. He fights against the Catholics, against his mother's powerful rival: Catherine de Medici, Queen of France. The latter offers him the hand of her daughter Margot as a sign of reconciliation, but the marriage ends in bloodbath. Henry survives St. Bartholomew's Night (blood wedding) and is held captive in the Louvre. He can only escape after four years. Five times he changes his faith; he fights and he parties. But when Catharina D'Alençon's youngest son dies of a blood and vascular disease, D'Anjou is the last scion of the royal line...
