Le Grand Blanc de Lambaréné plot
A biographical portrait of Dr. Albert Schweitzer and his wife Hélène, who suffered from tuberculosis and died from it. The film examines the period in Cameroon from 1935 to 1960, when the country became independent. Everything is seen through the eyes of Koumba, who from childhood had a great appreciation for the white doctor. Schweitzer sends him to a large city to complete his studies. When there is a dire shortage of medicines during World War II, the doctor looks for alternative medicines and uses the herbs of an African medicine man. After the death of his wife, the doctor seeks comfort from Bissa, a native beauty from the local village.
