Le Crime de Monsieur Stil plot

In Congo in the late 1950s, the elder Monsieur Stil (Bernard Verley) plans to go to France to marry a woman waiting for him in Lorraine. However, things don't go as planned. Along the way, he meets the beautiful and younger Charlotte (Jeanne Balibar) who does listen to his somewhat curious proposition: material security in exchange for keeping up the semblance of a good marriage.
