Last Shadow at First Light plot

After discovering old recordings of her deceased mother, 16-year-old Ami confronts her father, who denies anything ever happened. She travels from Singapore to Japan to contact the only person who knows where her mother is, a cynical taxi driver and uncle who has moved to Tokyo. Together, they embark on a journey to the family's hometown in coastal Northeast Japan to unravel the mystery of her mother's disappearance.
