Last Requests plot

Maggie is a widow who has been working as a cook at the Huntsville Death House in Texas for thirty years, preparing the last meal for inmates on death row. The day before the end of the last meal request program, she prepares her own last meal for a mass murderer who will be executed the next day. It will be a delicious dinner that she takes great care in. One of her colleagues is skeptical of Maggie's efforts for a man who opened fire in a schoolyard and killed many young children, but the cook justifies it as an act of comfort to a man about to leave the land of the living. and takes pride in her skill and work ethic. However, her kindness does not come across to the death row inmate as she had hoped.
