Ladygrey plot

Ten years after the end of apartheid, a sense of unease and fear still prevails among a South African community at the foot of the Drakensberg Mountains where an unsolved massacre from years ago still haunts villagers. In this fraught environment, Estelle fights to maintain her self-esteem while caring for the mentally retarded Mattis and having sex with the powerful British landowner Angus for money. The cruel Angus bullies his beautiful wife Olive and takes advantage of the poor workers, including Samuel, who is raising his young son after his wife's death.
