La Última Isla plot

Ten-year-old Alicia is sent by her parents to a remote island to spend the summer with an aunt she's never met. Without a TV, cell phones or other modern conveniences, Alicia quickly becomes bored. She also becomes frightened when she notices that her Aunt Belinda entertains strange guests with strange rituals in her small house. Alicia thinks she's a witch and decides to explore the island on her own. She meets two other children who enjoy themselves with games. She also meets Fermin, a strange bird who behaves one time like a child and then again like a philosopher. Little by little, Alicia begins to participate in the pretend games and begins to look at the world in a different way.
