La Souriante Madame Beudet plot
La Souriante Madame Beudet is the story of an intelligent woman caught in a loveless marriage. As a joke, her husband puts an empty revolver to his head every day, threatening to shoot himself. When her husband is away, she fills the revolver with bullets. However, stricken with remorse, she tries to take the bullets back the next morning. Yet her husband is the first to grab the revolver, this time aiming it at her.
