La Route du Bagne plot

1865, Paris. During a concert in a cafe, Manon accidentally kills her partner, who wants to force her to comply with his whims. She is sentenced to twenty years of hard labour, but is later deported to marry a forced laborer who has been released from prison. On the boat that takes her to her destination, she meets a young doctor and helps him prevent an uprising. She falls in love with him, unfortunately he already has a family and she doesn't want to hurt her fiancé either.
