La Pattuglia dell'Amba Alagi plot

Luciano is the sole survivor of the battle of Amba Alagi. A member of his squadron, Mario, deserted on the eve of the battle. After a long incarceration, Luciano - paralyzed by his injuries - returns home. He has promised his fellow soldiers to visit their families before they die. He starts with a long journey through Naples, Sicily, then arrives in Tuscany and then moves to Milan, where Maria, Mario's wife, lives. Luciano has always loved her in his youth and keeps from her that her husband has deserted in order to spare her the grief.
