La Moitié du Ciel plot

Anne, a divorced language teacher, travels to China with her 10-year-old daughter Sophie to look for a child she adopted there through an association from France. She arrives there with great certainty and the good feelings of a western woman. She is determined to successfully complete her project. But things don't go as expected and she is soon confronted with doubts, fears and problems.
